Neck pain: Aggravating factors- What can YOU do about it?

In this covid era majority of us- the professionals are working from home.

And, the kids are also studying from home.

Both these work & study is happening online.

Yes, nobody is liking these changes but now as

it is the new normal, we must accept it and

move on. Obviously, just like everything else, the

advantages of online culture come along

with some disadvantages. One big disadvantage of online culture

is that it acts as an aggravating factor for you or your kid’s neck pain.

Don’t worry, there are few things that you can follow easily to prevent

Neck pain. So, let us see-

What can you do to maintain the health of your neck?

#Maintain your posture

  • While working on computer/ laptop, make sure

that the level of the screen is appropriate

for your neck.

  • Don’t sit in one position for long period of time. At

regular intervals of 45 min to 1 hour, stand up and

relax your entire spine. Keep reminder of it in

your mobile so that you don’t forget it.

#Your mobile phone

  • Don’t hold your mobile phone in between your

ear & shoulder while on call. It creates stress in

your neck muscles leading to neck pain.

  • If you expect to have a telephonic conversation

For more than 2 to 3 minutes, use handsfree

Don’t be lazy to use your handsfree. Keep your

handsfree free handy so that you can use it without fail.

  • Here also it is better to use a wired handsfree than using

any other Bluetooth handsfree devices.

#Exercise

  • Perform simple warm-up exercises twice a day

if possible. That will strengthen your neck muscles to

take this additional workload.
