In this pandemic there is trend of taking turmeric without
any measurement, thinking that it is natural. So, it is safe &
will protect you from virus, without any side effect.
Turmeric in India is used since ancient time and
it has many health benefits. It is safe if you
take it in small doses. But, taking too much for
long period of time will cause serious health problem like:
- Unusual bleeding
- Stomach upset
If you are on any medication like-diabetes medicine,
blood thinner, or antidepressant, then taking too much of turmeric for
long period of time can interact with these drugs.
So, you should not take too much of turmeric powder for long period of time.
Now, an important question: – How much amount of Turmeric is safe?
There is very less data available on safe dosage of turmeric powder. But
taking up to 10—20 gm per day for few weeks will not harm you.
Turmeric supplement will be more harmful as they contain high
concentration of curcumin. If you want to take
high dose or its supplement then please take
under the guidance of a qualified health expert.
