Is your child suffering from ADHD? Food IS Your Medicine :)
ADHD is a child who is hyperactive,
not paying attention, constantly
moving from one place to another, find
difficult to complete the tasks in school,
talk unnecessarily, become aggressive,
forgets his daily activity, etc.
The causes for ADHD can be:
- Anxiety
- Lack of confidence
- Brain injury
- Food allergy
- Lack of proper nutrition or
- Lack of sleep.
Today we will discuss about the nutrition which help in ADHD-
1) Give healthy energy food
Aggression, nervousness, agitation and
anxiety are typical of your child’s ADHD symptoms. The
same are also the symptoms of low blood sugar level. So,
give your child food that slowly releases the
energy & also give your child satiety feeling (that is
delayed hunger). You must have seen your child
become more aggressive when hungry. Hence, it is
necessary to nourish your child properly to avoid
aggravation of ADHD symptoms.
Natural vegetarian source of healthy energy food is:
- Date
- Fig
- Raisin &
- Pulses
Dates, fig & raisin are easy to carry even if
you are going out or if you are travelling, you
can easily give these food to your child.
2) Magnesium
Magnesium is the mineral required in very small amount, but
plays major role in calming down the symptoms of ADHD.
Natural vegetarian sources of magnesium are:
- Almond
- Green peas &
- Green leafy vegetables.
3) Omega 3 Fatty Acid-
Omega 3 is a good fat which help your child’s
brain cells to function better. And thus, help in
reducing the aggressiveness and hyperactivity
of your child.
Natural vegetarian sources of omega 3 fatty acid are :
- Walnut
- Chia seed &
- Flax seeds.
You should avoid refined carbohydrates like chocolates &
cold drinks for your ADHD child, as they increase the sugar level
fast & also reduces sugar level equally fast!
