‘Male Menopause’ at the age of 40+ years which
commonly goes unnoticed.

you are having male menopause-
If you are male of 40+ age, and
Experiencing following symptoms, you may have male ‘menopause.’
- Uncontrolled anger- if in your younger age you were relatively
calm, and now you are getting very angry on small -small things then
this can be due to your hormonal change.

- Less drive and ambition- not feeling to do anything.
- Sore muscles
These are important health changes that
you go through in your life due to
gradual decline in the level of hormone- testosterone.
What causes male menopause?
If you are stressed, not having proper diet, suffering from various
diseases or having obesity, these changes the signals that
your pituitary gland sends to your testes. Thus,
your testosterone production gets reduced. This
gradual decline in testosterone doesn’t just
affect your bedroom life, but it also has impact on every
system of your body, particularly your-
- Circulatory system
- Muscles including heart
- Bones
- Nervous system & brain.
Not only one factor but combination of
many factors will help you to tackle your
male menopause. And they are as follows-
- Alcohol-
if you are drinking too much alcohol then
there are chances that there will be
decrease in the level of minerals which
help you to maintain your testosterone level. So,
say no to Alcohol.
- Regular exercise, yoga & pranayama –
if you are overweight then you may have
lower level of testosterone. Because, as you
accumulate fat in your body then there is
less production of testosterone. And, as
your testosterone is low, your muscles become
week & you can’t burn more fat. In other words,
being overweight leads to being even more overweight – &
to even lower level of testosterone. Yoga & Pranayama
helps you to keep your hormone level normal.
- Zinc-
Zinc helps you to maintain your testosterone level in your body. If
you are taking enough zinc from your food, then
there is no need to add supplement as
it won’t help you much.
Good natural vegetarian sources of zinc are-
Bengal gram whole, sesame seed and pumpkin seeds.
- Vitamin C-
Vitamin c is a good antioxidant which help you to
destroy free radical which are developed
in your body leading to decline in your
testosterone level. The antioxidants protect your
pituitary gland from the damage of free radicals. Your
pituitary gland is the control panel for your hormone production.
Good natural sources of vitamin C are –
Sprouts, papaya and guava.
The good news is that – unlike female menopause, your
Male menopause is not inevitable. With proper
life style management & proper food you can prevent it.
